Madonna has hired a male nanny to look after adopted son.
The pop superstar was looking for someone to care for 23-month-old David Banda and when she realised there were no suitable female candidates, she decided to employ a ‘manny’.
The man will live in Madonna’s luxurious London home along with the singer’s husband Guy Ritchie and her other children, Lourdes, 10, and seven-year-old Rocco. However, he has been told he will only be caring for David, who Madonna adopted from a Malwai orphanage last October.
The ‘Hung Up’ singer has also reportedly given her ‘manny’ strict house rules, which include no sex, no watching TV and no newspapers or magazines.
A source told Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper: “Madonna is very strict with her rules for whoever looks after her children as she wants the best standards for them.
“He will be a live-in nanny and need to be available 24/7. He has been given specific instructions never to bring a girlfriend back to the house and not to bring home any women younger than 30.
“She has also banned him from watching TV in the house, having a TV in his room and reading newspapers or magazines at home.”
Madonna’s former nanny, Melissa Duma, wrote an explosive book about her one-time employer, claiming her marriage to Guy was on the rocks, the couple are money-obsessed and live on extremely strict diets.
However, the 49-year-old singer successfully stopped the book from being released.
Meanwhile Madonna’s preview of her new song has allegedly flopped.
Partygoers at the ‘Pop Rocks’ party at New York’s Club 13 cheered when it was announced they would hear an advanced copy of the new Madonna track from her forthcoming album, but were disappointed, claiming it was too similar to Britney Spears’ ‘Slave 4 U’.
A source said of the song which was produced by Pharrell Williams: “Everyone cheered and was excited, but when it started playing, few were dancing.” The source added to the New York Post newspaper: “The song sounds almost exactly like Britney’s ‘Slave 4 U’ which Pharrell also produced. The response was tepid at best. They need to go back to the drawing board with that one.”
Meanwhile, the 49-year-old singer will be visited by a Malawi court-appointed official next month to assess whether she and husband Guy Richie are suitable parents for David Banda.
Madonna is seeking to adopt the 23-month-old boy she fostered from a Malawi orphanage last October.
Malawi official Penstone Kilembe - who had previously been refused permission to travel to Britain - announced yesterday (08.27.07): “There has been a change of mind by my government minister and she has allowed me to leave for the UK on September 4 and I am expected to spend two weeks.”

Thursday, August 9, 2007 Madonna dismisses adoption reports...

Singer Madonna has denied reports the adoption of baby Malawian David Banda has hit a snag after conflicting accounts of a key welfare official's flight to the U.K.On Saturday the director of Malawi's child welfare services, Penston Kilembe, said financial and administrative difficulties had prevented him traveling to London in May to determine whether Banda can be officially adopted by Madonna and her husband, Guy Ritchie.
Kilembe added that the adoption process may now "crumble," 10 months after the couple brought the child back to the U.K. from a Malawian orphanage last October. But Madonna's spokeswoman Liz Rosenberg says, "The information regarding the adoption that was reported is simply not accurate."The adoption process is going along very well and according to proper procedure."The High Court of Malawi appointed Kilembe to visit Banda in his new home twice before deciding whether Madonna's adoption should be formalized in a hearing next year.
